Groom & Bride

Yuanling and Anu are distinguished Ivy League graduates from the ’90s and highly successful venture capitalists. With keen foresight in their respective domains, they each lead nearly ten startup teams, continuously working towards technological advancements that will propel humanity forward. As we celebrate their joyous union, let us also recognize the remarkable accomplishments of these outstanding young visionaries.

Anu

Anubhav Maheshwari

Anu was born in month December of 1992, in Mountain View, California, to Indian parents Arti and Yogesh, who had moved to Silicon Valley in 1991 due to Yogesh’s job with Tata Consultancy Services. Named Anubhav, meaning “Experience” in Hindi, Anu’s early years were a blend of adventure and adaptation as his family frequently relocated. In 1993, the family returned to India, only to move to Zurich, Switzerland, in 1994 due to Yogesh’s work. From 1997 to 2003, they settled in Switzerland, where Anu developed a love for outdoor activities and formed a close bond with his younger brother, Raghav. The family’s subsequent move to Mumbai in 2003 exposed Anu to India’s vibrant and chaotic culture, profoundly shaping his worldview.

In 2005, Anu returned to Switzerland, completing his education at Zurich International School with several academic and leadership awards. His high school years were marked by involvement in cross-country running, basketball, student council, and a burgeoning interest in music, specifically playing the electric guitar. Driven by his experiences in Mumbai, he became deeply involved in community service projects in India, Turkey, and Tanzania.

From 2011 to 2015, Anu attended the University of Pennsylvania, participating in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, earning degrees in Economics and Materials Engineering. His passion for technology and finance flourished through involvement in investment clubs and internships at Greentech Capital Advisors, Glenmede Investment Management, and Credit Suisse Investment Banking.

Anu started his career as an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Global Technology Investment Banking group advising both private and public technology companies on M&A, IPOs and other capital markets financings. While always at the intersection of technology and finance, Anu has moved to progressively earlier stages with time. After Morgan Stanley, Anu was an investor at ICONIQ Growth where he focused on Series B and later growth investments in software, fintech, and consumer startups. As you can likely extrapolate, the next step in the journey has been joining Stage 2 Capital and investing in Seed and Series A stage B2B startups. Anu is a long-time Chelsea FC fan, novice electronic music producer, slightly better guitarist, and maybe too serious a board game player (Catan, anyone?).
